Bishop Wayne T. Jackson Controversial Ordination Service

Back in August 2012 Bishop Wayne T. Jackson Senior Pastor of Impact Church one of Detroit, Michigan prominent Church Consecrated two Men to the office of Bishop.  And the Consecrated/Ordination Service brought a lot of attention and controversy to him that brought national attention and the video went viral. Many consider it to be wrong and offensive with a Homosexual intent to it etc. and to the point of not being Godly nor biblical. As you can see for yourself in the video of Bishop Jackson had the candidates lie on the floor in a prostrate position of surrender to the Holy Ghost while they were covered with sheets of cloths as he then laid upon them to transfer his anointing/mantel upon them.

Bishop Wayne T. Jackson said he's under attack because a video of an August consecration ceremony went viral. It shows him praying and lying atop new bishops as they lie on the floor, shrouded in white cloths, during their ordination at his church, Impact Ministries International on Grand River.

Per the Detroit News Bishop Wayne T. Jackson said the ceremony is similar to the ordination of Catholic priests. The practice of "lying prostrate before the Lord" is a common biblical reference. I have done nothing wrong," said Jackson, a grandfather and married father of nine, said Tuesday. "This was done in front of a thousand people. It was not done in secret." He said he has been holding such ordinations since 1998 and does not plan to stop.

Others argue that would be a good idea.

"If I were Wayne T. Jackson, I would find another way to ordain bishops in the future," the Rev. Horace Sheffield III of New Destiny Baptist Church in Detroit said this week during his radio show on WCHB-1200 AM., Bishop Jackson said Detractors "took over" his Facebook Page and posted insulting remarks about the ceremony.  He said his attorney is seeking a cease-and-desist order to pull the video from YouTube. "They are using my likeness to spew hate," said Jackson, senior pastor of the church and founder of The Impact Network, a Christian broadcasting network solely owned by African-Americans.

"This has been a main attack on homosexuals. If (the ministers) call themselves Christians, they should be leading people with love."

The Rev. Anthony Evans, president of the Washington D.C.-based National Black Church Initiative, said Jackson "has a right to develop any ceremony he chooses" — but the practice is unusual, offensive and seems to promote homosexuality, a taboo in the black church.

On this week the video as mention went viral over all Social Media Networks which started a wise base discussion, Some in favor and many against this practice of what I consider to be a modern day ritual. There are many things that are done in the Church today that has no Spiritual Base to it.... Many take scriptures out of context or application to what Jesus or his disciple's may have done or taught.  Where Elijah in 1 Kings 17:19 laid upon the woman dead son and prayed unto God and life was given back to the son as the focus point and comparison to what Bishop Jackson actions/attempt.

Many might ask the question my opinion or thought on it?  Well let me make it clear from my observation and state/set the record straight I have known Bishop Wayne T. Jackson as for long as I can remember coming from out of the same Religious Affiliation and no wise think that Bishop is no way committing any form of sexual intent.  Now while I don't clearly understand this form or ritual of transferring your anointing to another servant of God that is under your ministry authority, Had I been directly under his ministry I don't think it would cause me to leave, post questionable  drama remarks and status quotes on the many Social Media Sites that I am on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube etc.

You might be wondering where I am going with this post, Well we are now living in what my Parents and many Elders and Bible Teacher taught me as a child growing up in the Church.  We most now as never before try the spirit by the spirit, We must study the word of God for ourselves and rightly divide the word of truth and earnest pray for directly from God and just not from the Pulpit Servant.  Bishop Wayne T. Jackson in my opinion just did a Ritual in a way we are not comfortable with.  I have heard of what I consider worst than what he has done.  Their have been Pastor(s) that have laid hands on Women Private Body Parts praying that they would be conceive with child. And other numerous situation that does not line up with the word of God.  Scripture Base but not applicable to the direct case of what Preacher, Ministers try to apply it to.

Being a license minister, I was asked if I was to be ordained to the Office of Pastor, Bishop etc., would I allow another Man of God lay upon me, even if I knew their credibility of Good Standing and Intent and my answer were No I wouldn't simply because I believe that the transferring of anointing can come in other ways as to the laying on hand.

I will close by saying this, Would I say Bishop Wayne T. Jackson is not a man of God for his action, Yes I would say he is a Man of God that walks in the authority of his calling and that I just don't agree with his concept of Ordination. Because I can't find substantial scripture supporting it.
